TCS hires freshers through one test, the National Qualifier Test (NQT). Your score decides whether you are considered for Ninja, Digital or Prime, followed by interviews.

What the TCS test checks
Ninja: Quantitative aptitude, Logical reasoning, Verbal ability, Code output.
Digital: Quantitative aptitude, Logical reasoning, Verbal ability, Code output, Coding.
Prime: Quantitative aptitude, Logical reasoning, Verbal ability, Code output, Coding, plus the advanced coding round.
Meeting the marks rule only gets you into the exam hall. The aptitude round is where most candidates are cut, and the higher-paid tracks need you to solve coding problems in time.
